Tootin my horn
I’ve been working for the last several months on recordings of marching band shows for the company I used to be employed by, Marching Show Concepts and Center X Productions. So far this season there have been 2 shows with minor euphonium solos and since I play the euphonium, I figured I might as well record them myself rather than try to squeeze them out of my sample library. It probably takes me longer to record them with all the setup, multiple takes, etc, but it has been a lot of fun playing my horn again so it’s totally worth it.
Here’s an excerpt from Exotic Impressions with me playing: Euph Solo
Not to bad for having shelved the horn for the last couple years. It was great to play it again, if not a bit humbling, and (with a little technological help) I think the results aren’t half bad.
The BEST part was having Miles check out my horn and hear my play for the very first time! Betsy busted out the camera and got some ADORABLE shots. She’s working right now, so I’ll have to post those tomorrow. Tune in!
Much Metta,
John
You’re amazing.
The end.
